About Me — Akos
Web developer by day, digital writer by night
Hey, my name is Akos.
I’m active on Twitter, building a community of 16k people, and Substack, writing about everything related to my online journey as a digital writer.
My earliest attempts at blogging date back to 2007. It started with WordPress, but then I moved to self-hosted solutions that I was tweaking more than actually writing stories. In 2021 I joined a social blogging platform where I thrived. I was part of their journey, participated in panel talks, and was a speaker at one of their bootcamps designed for aspiring writers.
The real reason why I’m gravitating towards Medium again is the variety of topics I can read about and the community.
Let me explain.
This other platform, where my main blog is tech-focused. My day job is building web applications, and when I find some time to read stuff online, it’s everything but programming. Usually:
- writing
- content creation
- audience building
- personal development.
These are the topics I like to write about as well.
Medium gives me great controls over what kind of stuff appears in my feed. I know this because I’m reading a lot on the platform, commenting, and engaging in meaningful discussions — something I couldn’t do on other social blogs.
On top of this, by purchasing the Premium Membership, I’m supporting the writers I read the most. ✨
My goal here?
To inspire and help people write more and better. Writing has been a part of my life since I was a kid, leading me to some of the best opportunities in my professional life. It relaxes and recharges me, and I feel I could do it all day.
Happy to connect and see you around!
Cheers,
Akos
